Chishū Ryū

Japanese actor, 1904–1993. He joined Shochiku in 1925 and appeared in more than fifty of Ozu's films, frequently as the father, including Late Spring, Tokyo Story and An Autumn Afternoon. His career spanned more than sixty years.
